Always very tasty food for me, one of my favorite restaurants! It's great that you can order food outside the home during the lockdown. Highly recommended thanks to the Genke family and the team !!

The food is good. Service, unfortunately, still very expandable. If you come in and are initially ignored or get a 'hello' or a 'goodbye' while leaving, then you feel totally unwelcome. In addition, the restaurant was only half full, but the waiters all seem totally listless and overwhelmed! That really disturbed the atmosphere during the meal. Conclusion: we won't be back soon!

The eatery has an excellent location, that Food is rather average, the portions too small for this price level. We have already been to the Forsthaus Seebergen several times and each time it is confirmed that the restaurant is understaffed, the staff are in a bad mood and overwhelmed, because the distances from the kitchen to the terrace are very long. You have to wait an exceptionally long time between the individual courses, which is due to the understaffing. Even with the payment you wait a long time, we won't visit this place again.

Very nice atmosphere, but I would have hoped for a lot more from the food. I would have a slightly too dry salmon with unfortunately very overcooked tagliatelle. The chanterelles were really good though.

An enchanted place with lots of sounds from nature. Modern rooms that are pure and spacious for a few pieces of silver. The dishes are so fresh that you can even see them swimming. Little hops are on the whole property.

The food in the restaurant was amazing. Big compliments to the kitchen. The service was great. Seldom had such a courteous waiter. The rooms are getting old but very large. However, I would have liked to have had lint and small stains on the bed linen, towels, sheets and curtains

We were here twice for the gourmet summer, each with 2 different menus. Both menus were excellent. The staff very nice and polite. Always happy to be a guest there!

The highlight is definitely the location. We sat outside today and it borders on paradise. The handling is rather below average. There weren't any big upsets, but if you value courteous friendliness, you'd better go elsewhere. The main courses were all excellent. However, the side salad was not fresh, which you could see in some clearly visible brown areas on the cut edges. You have to pay quite a bit for the experience, which is particularly negative, especially in view of the really poor portions. Price 2 stars Service 3 stars Food 4 stars Ambience (outside area) almost 5 stars. After consultation with the other guests, we stay at 3 stars. And it was clear to everyone that we wouldn't be coming here anytime soon. There are simply too many good alternatives in the area for that. And for the price, at least you want to be full.

Nicely located hotel, nice staff, good food, you wouldn't expect in such a small place. The spectacle with the wild geese right on the lake was also nice. In the morning you were woken up by the returning wild geese with the patio door open and you could watch the whole thing from your bed. It was really nice, thank you very much.

We were there for the gourmet summer. And are absolutely thrilled. We sat on the terrace with a view of the lake, where we could watch animals and enjoy our food. The corridors came at a good distance, the service was friendly and attentive. The food was very good, it will not be our last visit. There was a small drawback, the wasps, they were intrusive and kept coming despite repeated requests. But that's the way it is with uninvited guests. Anyone looking for a restaurant with a great atmosphere will find it here. Thanks for the great wedding day.

The 4-course summer menu was great and the price-performance ratio was right. Our dear waitress, Mrs. Faust, gave us a great evening, just like with the 1st summer menu in early July. Very nice, friendly, competent service who enjoys her job. Gladly again

Have stayed there several times and the atmosphere convinced us. There are beautiful rooms almost everywhere, but such an environment in the midst of nature right by a pond is something special. Breakfast was brought to the table in the morning! Very nice! Friendly service! We found the food to be good but a bit expensive.

As always, a wonderful calm atmosphere, very calm .. no hectic rush .. you feel comfortable as a guest. Food very good. Nice service.

Great hotel facility and restaurant! Great menu and very varied, prices high but first-class quality and composition of the dishes. Had lamb fillet, with chanterelles and fried potatoes. Very tasty, only the obligatory small salad was missing. But you sit on the terrace with a view of the lake. Friendly service and very attentive. I can only recommend trying it out!

Very old and smells bad but it was still ok

We were served very nicely here. The saddle of venison was tender and very tasty. Maybe you could serve outside with a hot plate, then you can have some of the side dishes longer.

Idyllic and tranquil setting in the beautiful countryside just outside of Hamburg. If you ever wanted to stay in a traditional "Forsthaus" teemed with history and beauty, this restaurant and hotel delivers a wonderful experience. The food is exquisitely prepared and would be considered "gourmet" food in any higher-end US restaurant (I would even say, better than most high-end restaurants I have visited across the US). They specialize in traditional German meals including venison, duck, and fish delicacies. The service is nothing but the very best. Everyone is so kind and helpful that it made our one week stay exceptionally relaxing. The location is very convenient into surrounding cities (Hamburg = 30 minutes), Luebeck, Moelln, Ratzebug, etc. also within 30-40 minutes). A car is recommended and is a great way to test your "Autobahn" driving skills. In short, you will not be disappointed.

A wonderful place to stay. The kitchen is absolutely great. The service very friendly and professional. We always like to come here again.

A great quaint restaurant. Cozy atmosphere with a beautiful view of the own lake. Especially in good weather a dream. Nice subtle lighting. Quiet and well-arranged seating. And the food is really great. Many local and seasonal specialties prepared with love. Partly from our own breeding and the surrounding lands. Definitely worth a recommendation and we visit it more frequently.

Traditional German country mansion in a very scenic, farm-inspired setting featuring geese, ducks, goats that are roaming the fields beyond a romantic lake. Lush greens are surrounding the restaurant and hotel and most rooms offer great views over the small lake and the grounds. Efficient service, solid, not fancy food and short ways between hotel and meeting/ball rooms makes this an attractive place for larger family events. This is where my critique anchors. We arrived while one ballroom was still occupied, the restaurant had reserved tables, and the rented ballroom was still prepared for the evening. We had no place to meet as a group between check in and the evening event. This place is an event mill and service seems to be more focussed on easy transitions between events than on the individual customers.
